In 2019, when our founder, Allison, learned about the harmful toxins hidden in conventional candles (yes, even the ones claiming to be "clean"), everything changed. What began as a personal mission to find safe, non-toxic scents that she could burn around her pup, Magnolia, became Applewood Candle Co. - a luxury home fragrance brand that marries wellness with beauty.

We know the reality - many mass-market candles still contain phthalates, carcinogens, and Prop 65 chemicals. No one should be exposed to harmful ingredients - plain and simple. Whether you’re health-conscious, have pets or little ones, or just want to feel good about what’s in your home, no one should have to compromise safety for scent. So we chose a different path: slow-crafted, high-integrity ingredients, even if it means a more complex production process and a smaller scent library.

Our commitment to clean, sustainable candle-making isn’t just about our clients - it’s personal. Every single clean ingredient candle is hand-poured by myself or a member of my family, which means we’re working closely with these ingredients every single day. We choose the highest-quality, non-toxic materials not only to protect your home, but to protect ours, too. Because if it’s not safe enough for our own hands, our own air, and our own family - it’s not going in our candles, no exceptions.

Crackling Wooden Wicks
We use sustainably-sourced, FSC-certified wood wicks that create a soft, ambient crackle - no coatings, no additives, just the cozy sound of comfort.
