What is Applewood Candle Co.?
Applewood Candle Co. is a line of home fragrance products, with a goal to provide our clients with a pure, safe, clean product that they can feel comfortable using around their pets, children, the elderly and anyone in between!
How quickly can I expect my order to ship?
We try to get orders out as soon as possible, but since many of our candles are hand poured just for you, we promise to ship your order within 7 - 10 business days. If you need your order sooner, please reach out and we can try our best to work with you to get your order out sooner.
My order is a gift - can I include a note to the recipient?
Absolutely! Just include the note in the "notes" section of your order, so we know that it is a gift, as well as the message you would like for us to include.
I can't decide which scent - do you make samples?
Unfortunately, we do not. We used to include a tea light sample with each order, but at this current time we cannot guarantee any samples with orders, nor do we send samples of each fragrance.
Check out our "About Applewood" tab, and then the "Find us Local" section - you may have a shop near you that carries our products or we may be popping up in your area at a local market soon. This would allow you to smell our sample candles!
Can I get my order gift wrapped?
At this time, we do not offer gift wrapping. However, this holiday season, we will have gift sets that come packaged in a white box with a coordinating ribbon!
I have an upcoming event - do you make custom candles?
We sure do! Reach out to us and we can send you over a custom candle packet, as well as scent and vessel options. I LOVE being able to express my creativity and create a custom candle for your next event or client gift.
Do you wholesale your candles?
Yes! Reach out to us on Instagram, or using the "Contact Us" section on our website. We'll send you a wholesale packet!
Can I refill my dough bowl candle?
Yes, and no. We refill dough bowls in our "off" season - meaning January - April and June - August for local clients only. Reach out to us and I'll go over the options with you!
What can I do with my dough bowl after the candle is gone?
What can't you do with your dough bowl? Dough bowls make for the PERFECT decor piece. When you are done burning your candle, carefully scoop out any remaining wax (you can scoop it into a wax melter and use it as a wax melt - if you have one!), and use a tiny bit of soap and water to clean out any remaining wax (and the protective coating) from the sides of the dough bowl.
Next you can fill the dough bowl with anything you see fit - ornaments during the holidays, plant a succulent or air plant, use it to hold your TV remote, set it on the counter with a cotton napkin and some lemons... trust us, the possibilities are endless!

My candle won't light - what can I do?
Have you trimmed your candle wick? 99% of the time, the reason a candle won't stay lit is because the wooden wick was not trimmed. We suggest trimming your wick to 3/16 - 1/4 inch before lighting your candle on each burn. This ensures your candle lights, stays lit and burns perfectly!
I didn't burn my candle long enough and now it is starting to tunnel - what should I do?
Carefully scoop out any wax that remains on the side of jar, so that the surface is even. You can reuse this wax in a wax melter, too!

My candle has a tiny flame - is that normal?
Not necessarily, but it may be normal for your particular candle! Sometimes if a candle starts to tunnel, or if the ambient conditions aren't right, your candle may experience a smaller flame. Continue to burn your candle until you obtain a full melt pool (meaning the melted wax reaches - or almost reaches - the sides of the vessel), and then extinguish. Next time you go to burn your candle, trim the wick and try again!
My order arrived broken - what should I do?
If you receive broken or damaged product, please let us know within 72 hours of delivery! This ensures we are able to reach out to the delivery company ASAP, and in time to submit a claim. We'll submit the claim and will follow up with next steps!
What is your return/refund policy?
Unfortunately, we do not accept returns (or exchanges).
