What is Candle Club?
Candle Club is our quarterly candle subscription! But I want to be careful with that word, subscription, because it carries a lot of baggage. It conjures images of forgotten charges and boxes of things you did not really need piling up in a corner.
This isn't that.
Candle Club is three hand-poured candles (made with only clean, non-toxic ingredients, like every single product we create), delivered to your door every season, each one chosen specifically for the feeling of that time of year. It is an invitation to slow down and mark the seasons with intention... to let your home shift and evolve the way the world outside your window does, one scent at a time.
It is also, genuinely, one of the most joyful things we make. Choosing the seasonal scents, watching the boxes go out, hearing from members when they open them... this is the part of running Applewood that reminds me exactly why I started.
What Do You Get in Each Candle Club Box?
Every Candle Club box includes three hand-poured signature candles, each crafted in small batches in our Metamora, Michigan studio. These are not sample sizes, not travel tins... they are the real thing, chosen for the season and presented beautifully.
Here is what is inside every box:
- A Seasonal Candle — picked from the current seasonal collection and curated to capture the feeling of that specific time of year. The scent you did not know you needed until you light it for the first time on exactly the right kind of day (we truly believe in these 'meant to be' moments!).
- A Candle Club Exclusive Scent — blended solely for Candle Club members. This one is not available anywhere on the site. It exists only for you. And don't worry... we always pour a few extras so that when members fall in love with it (because we know they will!), you can order an extra one or two... but reach out quickly, they normally sell out within the first week!
- A Timeless Collection Candle — a scent we pull from our everyday Timeless Collection. These are the blends we return to season after season... and each box, we choose the one that feels especially right for this particular time of year. A reminder that some things are worth burning well beyond a single season.
Our Candle Club boxes come in a special shipping box that is meant to make the experience feel even more special! We seal it with custom seasonal tape and include a 'note from Applewood,' which is one of my favorite things to write each season!
Each Candle Club box is $84.50, shipped free directly to your door every season. Three signature candles, no shipping fees, no thinking about it, just the right scents arriving exactly when you need them! Each candle burns for 40+ hours, so you are getting 120+ hours of hand-poured, toxin-free scent per box. Purchased individually, those three candles would run you $97.50, so the box saves you $13 before you even factor in free shipping. It is one of the better deals we offer, and honestly, one of the easiest 'yes's' we know of!
How Are the Seasonal Scents Chosen?
This is my favorite part to talk about.
I do not approach a new season's collection by sitting down with a list of popular scent trends. I approach it by thinking about a feeling. A moment. The specific quality of light in a room on a September evening, or the way a summer kitchen smells when the back door is open and something cold is sweating on the counter.
The question I always start with is: if someone closed their eyes and breathed this in, where would they be? What would they be doing? How would they feel?
From there, I work on blending... testing, adjusting, burning them in my own home until I land on the ones that feel genuinely right. The ones that make me stop what I am doing and just be in the room for a moment!
Candle Club members get the scents I am most excited about each season. The ones that feel like the truest expression of that time of year. They are almost always limited (once the season passes, they are gone) which makes the box feel like something worth holding onto rather than something easily replaced.
Is a Candle Subscription Box Worth It?
I am a little biased here, obviously. But let me give you the honest answer.
If you are someone who burns candles regularly and loves having a home with a scent that feels seasonal and intentional, yes, completely worth it. You get three signature candles at a meaningful saving over buying them individually, they arrive right when you need them, and you never have to think about it. The season just shows up at your door!
If you are someone who buys one candle every six months and forgets to light it, Candle Club is probably not the right fit. And thats okay. We would rather you find the right thing than subscribe to something that collects dust.

When Does the Candle Club Box Ship?
Boxes ship on the first day of each season:
- Spring — March 1
- Summer — June 1
- Autumn — September 1
- Winter — December 1
Members receive a heads-up before each box goes out, so you will always know it is coming. And because we pour in small batches, the number of Candle Club memberships we can take each season is genuinely limited with only 10-20 extra boxes each quarter. We are not being dramatic about that... when the boxes are gone, they're gone for the season!
How Do I Join the Applewood Candle Club?
